The two co-founders approached me with a clear sense of purpose and a deep understanding of the brand they envisioned for Silbo, their copywriting and verbal identity studio. With messaging and positioning expertly defined, they came to Artisan Design to help uncover and craft a unique visual identity. We worked together to bring Silbo's brand essence to life, seamlessly merging words with a visually compelling representation."

visual identity
The Silbo logotype features a unique customised typeface. Chosen intentionally for its non-snobbish and slightly playful vibe, the serif typeface imparts gravitas, establishing a trustworthy tone. The extension of the uppercase 'S' cleverly incorporates quotation marks, serving multiple functions as an apostrophe, comma, and speech bubble. These marks, referencing the studio's messaging focus, also double as standalone icons. Complementing the main type, a simple badge in an organic circle, using a unique typewriter font, adds an additional layer to the logotype. This badge accentuates the handcrafted boutique service ethos that Silbo embodies.
My partner and I came in with very solid brand strategy of our own, but Chaya, with her sharp mind and well-honed process, helped us refine, sharpen, and whittle it down further until everything about our positioning was crystal clear. She listened deeply and grasped not only our concept, but the underlying nuances and tones, colours and flavours, and even our personal styles. She translated impossible pairs of opposites into a cohesive visual identity that perfectly encapsulates who we are and what we want to convey.
Miriam Schwedel + Orit Wittenber, Founders Silbo
Bringing it all together:
After laying the foundation with brand positioning and a distinctive logo, I crafted a brand system infused with delightful mellow colors, nostalgic type, and tactile textures. The addition of hand-drawn illustrations brings charm and a distinctly human touch, elevating the visual experience with a personalized and artisanal feel."
